26 Weeks 5 Days: We spent 6 hours at the hospital today, it was a long exhausting day but all tests look good so far. We started with our social worker, which is always a nice visit. We then had two hours to do nothing so we popped down to the cafe, grabbed some food and completed a crossword together. We headed to ultrasound early and were seen right away. I had a new tech I have not had before but she was nice and easy on my belly. She was the first one to absolutely say nothing and just said to ask Dr. S...but she did show us Bee and we got to see Bee moving around and hiccuping (pictures below) She did comment on how long Bees legs and arms are....not sure who that is from....
We headed to See Dr. S afterwords and got in right away. He said the ultrasound looks good Bee is 26 and 5 and is measuring 26 (of which he reassured me is of absolutely no concern, not until baby is two weeks behind) but Bee is 2lbs and all other measurements are on track. Everything is looking good so far. We talked a lot about where to go from here as we approach the 3rd trimester and what the schedule will look like. Right now we will be going every two weeks for ultrasounds and BPP's with follow up appointments. As we get a little farther along they will change to weekly and then a few times a week with a hospital stay.
We spent most of the time talking about his opinion of a VBAC versus another scheduled c-section. We have lots of information to think about the next few weeks but no decision will be made until the week before it has to be made. We still have to go to pre-admit but his nurse pushed it back 4 more weeks.
They also all convinced me to just do all the blood tests today. I wasn't going to because I already feel like crap but that was their point, I already feel like crap, can't get much worse so I drank the sugary orange drink and waited an hour. I think the worst part was how bad it burned my throat and then I couldn't drink anything for an hour and all I wanted was some water, it was such a slow hour. But I managed, went up, had stabby mc staberson that leaves your arm black and blue draw my blood and FINALLY after 6 hours we were on our way home.
So all in all, the report today was good. Bee is still doing well, our Dr is pretty confident no kidney issues will arrive and now we focus on preventing another stillbirth and starting to think the next few weeks about how we want to deliver Bee if we get that far. We are armed with information and plan to pray on the decision as both have pros and cons and it's just a matter of what we feel more comfortable with but really, we pretty much all agreed we will not make the decision until just before it has to be made (and Bee may very well may only make one option) but now we have info and we have our Dr's opinion and I know it is very rare for a Dr to want to do a vbac but ours highly suggests it so we shall see in time.
Other then that, I still feel like crap but my contagiousness has worn off so back to work for me tomorrow. My throat is still horrendously sore and the anti biotics are reeking havoc on my system but little Bee is well and that is always my main concern. Dr.S also gave us some info on what other meds I could take despite what the pharmacist said. He said that when ever I am in doubt, call him and ask him and not the pharmacist. So I will be stopping at Shoppers tomorrow to pick up some throat stuff to help get me through the day. The problem is I have to answer phones at work and that isn't going to go so well with my voice and sore throat so I may have to finagle my way through that somehow. Speaking of work, it seems the plan is to have me go off sooner then planned so the countdown is on! And on that note and after a very long day here are a few pics of Bee. Little lad/miss was again, no cooperative so we didn't get all the clear shots, this little one wants to stay secret until we get to meet him/her. I did find out that both feet and hands are nice and firmly pressed against my bladder so when he/she kicks....let's just say I know not to keep a full bladder.
The first picture is of Bee's profile with the little leg up by face (very flexible little baby)
The second if one of those Tim Burton creepy face shots where you can see the eyes, nose and mouth
The third is of Bee's foot (if it looks big its because it is, Bee be packing some long limbs)
