I've been doing so well with keeping myself sane lately and a large part of that is my husband. But tomorrow at 9am my sanity will be leaving for more than 24 hours, almost 48 hours. Stephen found out he has to travel to Oshawa and Whitby to deal with some work issues and this will be the first time we have ever been away from each other in the almost 3 years we have been together. Talk about tough cookies! I have had no time to prepare for this. At first we thought it would only be a day trip on Thursday but now he has to leave tomorrow morning, spend the night and be gone all day Thursday and, Heaven Forbid, possibly until Friday. I don't know how I'm going to keep my shit together. He is my everything and I am asking for prayers to keep him safe and me sane! I have no access to a car, though I know if anything happened there would be a ton of people who could drive me to get to him but I just pray he has safe travels.
I pray that I can keep myself occupied enough over the next few days with no car and lots to do. I decided to make a menu board with a bunch of easy, quick, go to meals. I'm going to type up a bunch of recipes on cards, laminate them and then stick them in folders for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks so we can just pull a card out and go! Its a way to help cut down on our eating out. We need easy go to meals that are accessible so we'll try this out.
I'd type more but I am exhausted! Please keep Stephen and I in your prayers the next few days as we are forced into taking another HUGE step, one we have not prepared for and neither of us are really ready to take but for the sake of his work, he has to go. For the sake of my sanity I need to buy lots of chocolate and knit all day! Too bad I don't drink, I'm sure it would come in handy tomorrow.
